Our Board of Trustees

Members of Christian Action UK's Board of Trustees have all lived or worked in China and have a deep respect for her people. Orphaned and abandoned children are especially close to our hearts, and we are committed to serving them as well as others in need.

Reverend John Aldis (Chairman)
John served as an Anglican minister in London, Leicester, Hong Kong, the Sultanate of Oman and Watford before retiring in early 2008. While serving as Vicar of St. Andrew's Church in Hong Kong from 1989 to 1999, John also sat on Christian Action Hong Kong's Board. As its Chairman, he witnessed the foundational years of Christian Action's work in Qinghai Province.

Cheung-Ang Siew Mei
As the Executive Director of Christian Action Hong Kong, Siew Mei has steered the work of Christian Action by her faith and her commitment to meet the needs of the poor and disadvantaged in Hong Kong and China. She was appointed Executive Director of Christian Action Hong Kong in 1992.

Paul Ardern
Paul has a long-standing personal and professional involvement with China. He formerly held a senior position with Citibank in Asia. He now lives in Oxford, where he once studied Philosophy, Politics and Economics and Japanese, and in his spare time, still does.

Martin Brown
A retired Chartered Engineer, Martin spent 13 years in Hong Kong as Head of Operations and Chief Engineer for the MTRC and KCRC railways. While in Hong Kong, Martin travelled extensively in China and was a regular volunteer at an orphanage in Guangdong Province.

Nigel Oakes
Nigel returned to the UK with his family a few years ago after spending 18 years in Hong Kong.

Bill Graham (Company Secretary)
A chartered engineer and military logistician who, over the past 30 years, has spent nearly 10 years in Hong Kong (HK) doing a variety of jobs ranging from learning chinese (mandarin) to Chief Operating Officer of a well known HK charity. Currently living in Salisbury where he works full time as a consultant.
